Airgain offers embedded modems for charging station producer
Airgain says an unnamed producer of EV charging stations has chosen Airgain’s NimbeLink embedded modems to supply connectivity to the producer’s nationwide community of chargers.
Airgain’s line of NimbeLink embedded modems are end-device licensed, and all RF parts are included within the electronics, eliminating the necessity for RF design on the charger’s motherboard. The one requirement is a normal 20-pin connector, which permits for interchangeable modems and wi-fi modules.
“Connectivity is a catalyst to progress in EV charging,” says Brian Critchfield, VP of Advertising at Airgain. “With such speedy market progress upon us, producers don’t have time to attend for mobile service certification and sometimes don’t have the RF engineers on workers to deal with the rising complexity in wi-fi. Airgain’s line of NimbeLink embedded modems simplifies wi-fi connectivity by providing a chic resolution that shortens time to market and eliminates the necessity for in-house RF experience.”
